Servers and networks

“Refresh” your computers

If your office computers are getting old and tired we can help in a number of ways.

Option 1: Network your business

We can link your computers together in a network and put a server in charge of your files, printers and internet access. Centralising in this way has many benefits. Any person in your office can access the files that they need to (with permission) without having to find it on someone else’s computer. Printers can be used from any computer. You can take a central backup of all your vital data at once to provide disaster recovery should the worst happen.

Option 2: New software

Windows XP is now 7 years old and Microsoft no longer offers full support for it. We can convert all your old Windows PCs to run Linux and Open Office. Linux is free software not only as in no purchase price but also that the source code is open and public. This means that it will continue to be supported in the future and you will not be left with insecure or out of date software that could endanger your business.

Option 3: Thin clients

We can install a new server in your office and convert your old computers in to terminals. (Thin Clients.) Your old computers simply start up a small piece of software that turns them in to a screen and keyboard for the new server. The result is that they start up incredibly quickly but all the work takes place on the fast new server with modern software. We can use your choice of Windows Server or Linux.
